Why is the map not following my location?

If the map is not following your location there are 3 possibilities:

  • No Location update is arriving DMD2 - Check that location is enabled in your device and make sure you provided location permission for DMD2. Other than this unless you have some sort of hardware issue, DMD2 should be capable of receiving location updates from the device.

  • No location fix - Either you are inside a building or a tunnel or for some other reason you have poor GPS signal in the place where you are at the moment. Check precision and last update time (2. in the image), ideally you want a low value (lower than 5m precision), next to the precision value you can check how long ago was the last update, usually "1s" (1 second) is the optimal time.

  • Wrong follow location mode - There are a series of different follow location modes (Button 1. in the image) make sure you are using one of the following modes:

Travel Faced

Faced to Travel Direction - Map will follow your location and rotate so that up faces your travel direction.

North Up

North Up - Map will follow your location with no rotation, up is always north.

Disabled

Disabled - Map will not follow your location!

Paused - Temporarily paused due to controller panning or any action to preview a location, press on it to go back to previous mode or wait 20 seconds and, most of the times, it will resume automatically.

There are other follow modes, which are disabled by default, if your button shows any other icon besides the ones mentioned here it means you enabled another mode, you can enable / disable modes in: Map Configuration (button with 3 overlayed squares) > Advanced (button in the bottom) > Search for "Follow Location Modes".

Notice that the follow location toggle button will cycle through all the enabled follow modes. You might need to tap on it multiple times for it to reach whatever is the desired follow mode.
