DMD2
The next generation of DMD navigation, rebuilt from the ground up for adventure riders. DMD2 is organized into four focused sections — Home, Map, Devices and Roadbook — With a clean new UI, improved turn by turn, more detailed maps, HUB integration and much more! It ties together every DMD accessory you ride with: remote controllers, OBD dongle, Power Box, TPMS and LoRa. Plus allows you to control action cameras and view iPhone notifications. All designed for fast, glanceable interaction at speed.
How to Install The App
- Tap the Download APK button — the file will save to your Downloads folder.
- The first time you sideload an app, Android will ask you to allow installs from your browser or file manager. Approve the prompt and re-open the APK.
- Tap Install, then Open when it's done. That's it.
- From here on, DMD2 checks for new releases automatically — when one is available, the app will prompt you to update in-place. No need to come back to this page.
Beta channel — DMD2-Next
The same app, running ahead of the release — new features land here first, and occasionally break here first. It installs alongside DMD2 as a separate red-icon app named DMD2-Dev, so your stable install keeps working untouched.
License
DMD Device
If you own a DMD device, the license is built in. Install the APK and you're activated — nothing else to do.
Offline License Key
Have a license key from us? Paste it into the app — works without Play Store or any network requirement after activation.
Play Store License
Already bought DMD2 on Google Play? Nothing to do — install the Play version and it finds your purchase on first launch. Signing into the HUB also carries it to your other devices.
Subscribe In-App
No license yet? Buy one straight from the app — 6 or 12 months through Google Play, cancel any time. Available in the Play version.
Free vs. Licensed
DMD2 is usable without a license. Riding, navigating and your files are free; a license adds the online layers, the weather features and everything that talks to the DMD HUB. Nothing you have already set up disappears if a license lapses — the paid layers simply stop drawing, and they come back the moment the license does.
Free — no license needed
- The map itself — offline vector maps, themes, 3D, Auto Zoom, overlays and Quick Actions
- Turn-by-turn navigation, route calculation and rerouting
- GPX files — load, follow, record and manage tracks and routes on the device
- The HUB’s GPX Manager and Location Manager — organise files and folders, save, edit and delete locations, see them as map pins and find them via Location Search → My Locations. Fully offline, on the device — syncing them to the HUB is what needs the license, and anything created meanwhile uploads on the first licensed sync
- Roadbook, trips, rider profiles and the Quick Menu
- Devices — all of them except the generic remote: OBD2, the DMD Power Box, the action cameras (DJI, Insta360, GoPro), DMD TPMS, the DMD remote controllers (Remote 1–4 and the BMW Sync Box), iPhone notification mirroring and the Fuel Level Simulator
- Country Specific Modules — Portugal Avisos, Catalunya Pla Alfa, Australia NSW and Victoria fire, France Vigilance and ZFE: the settings panel, the alerts, the briefings, the notifications and their map overlays
- Offline place search, and up to three offline map downloads
What a license adds
- Online Map Layers — ESRI satellite, the national topo rasters (US Topo, Sweden, Australia Geoscience, Norway, Czech, France IGN), hillshading, public GPS traces and custom rasters
- The global Active Fires and Fire Danger layers — the worldwide pair, not the country modules
- Downloading online layers for offline use, and the Offline Content they produce
- Weather everywhere — the status-bar reading, the Home weather row and detail, the weather map overlays, and the per-stop forecast plus worldwide fire list inside the Weather / Warnings On Route panel (the panel itself opens for everyone — see below)
- The HUB’s server side — syncing your GPX files, locations, profiles and progress; Riding Groups; and the public listings under Discover: HUB Locations, Community GPX Files, Signature Tracks, services and events. LoRa rides along here too: it is the radio bridge inside a riding group, not a device you add on its own
- Online place search results (beyond the offline hits)
- Generic (non-DMD) remote controllers with their key mapping — the only device that needs a license
- Offline map downloads beyond the free three
Signing into the HUB is always available even without a license — that is how a license bought on Google Play, or tied to your account, gets restored onto the device. Signing in on its own does not unlock the HUB features.
