Locations
Your saved places on a big screen: the viewpoints, fuel stops and campsites you keep, in folders, on a map, with every detail. Import them from other apps, export them as GPX, and share the best ones with the community.

The Locations Page
Open your avatar menu, or the account sidebar, and choose Locations. At the top: Import and Export, the search box, Filters, the sort, List, Split or Map, and Comfortable or Compact. New Location and New Folder sit in one bar right above the list.
Split view: the map on top, your places below.
Four buttons above the list set how it looks: List view, Compact view, Grid view and Group by category. Each place shows its photo or category icon, its name, its badges and its short description:
- Public or Private; Approved or Pending Approval for a public place;
- the country and your tags;
- the green pin when it shows on the DMD2 map (click it to show or hide the place there);
- Navigate (sends it to DMD2 to navigate to), View, Edit and a … menu with Delete.
The Map
In Split or Map view, your places are pins on a map, grouped into numbered circles where they are close together. Point at a pin for its details. Right-click the map and choose Save as my location to start a new place right there.
The legend lists your categories with how many pins each. Options sets the base map, relief shading, the globe, the pin size, Group nearby pins, Category icons and Show public locations (the community's places as well as yours). The other buttons fit all your places in view or make the map full screen, and you can drag the map's bottom edge to make it taller.
Search, Filters & Sort
The search box and the filters narrow every page of the list, not just the one you see. Filters opens one panel: Show (My locations, Favorites, or both), then continent, country, category, best time to visit, ground, vehicle, how crowded, tags and Visible on DMD2 Map. Reset clears them.
Favorites are other riders' public places you starred, here or in the apps. Their … menu has Remove from Favorites. The sort is Newest First, Oldest First, Public First or Private First.
Folders
Folders keep your places in order, and a folder can hold other folders, up to 5 levels deep (200 folders in all). Click a folder to open it: the list shows the places in that folder, its subfolders show next to it, .. goes up a level, and the line above goes back to any folder on the way or to All locations, which lists every place.
- New Folder makes one inside the folder you have open.
- The pencil on the open folder renames it, moves it (with everything in it) into another folder, or deletes it: Delete only the folder moves its subfolders and places up a level, and Delete folder and its… deletes the subfolders and places in it too, after telling you how many.
- Folders are for the website: DMD2 and the HUB app show your locations without them.
Working With Several
Tick the box on each place, or the box at the top of the list for every place on the page; Select all then takes every page of what the list shows. A bar offers Show on Map (on the DMD2 map), Move to… (any folder, or a new one inside another), Export (a GPX file) and Delete; Clear unticks them all.
Adding & Editing a Location
Edit Location: the tabs jump to each section.
New Location opens an empty place; Edit on a place, on its page, or in its pop-up in the Web Planner opens it. The sections:
- Basic Information: the Location Title, Public Location (shared with the whole DMD HUB community) and Show On The Map (on the DMD2 map).
- Region: continent, country, and state in the United States.
- Category & Details: tick one or more categories, from Fuel Station to Start of a Good Trail, each with its map icon; with more than one, pick the Main Category. Other, Fence, Home, Work and Danger are never public. Then the Access Ground Type (from Paved to Unpaved - Hard / Very Soft), the Crowd Level, the Good Time(s) to Visit and the Vehicle Access. The ones marked Required to publish are needed for a public place.
- Location on Map: paste coordinates, a Google Maps link or any location format into Location Coordinates, search with Place Search, or click the map.
- Address & Description: the address, your tags (the tags you already use are offered while you type), a one-line Short Description for the apps, the Detailed Description, Warnings, website and phone.
- Photos & Video: a primary and a secondary photo, and a YouTube link. A photo can be a file from your computer or an image on the web: right-click the image in your browser, choose Copy image address, and paste it in …or paste an image address from the web; the HUB downloads it when you save (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 6 MB). Remove photo deletes a photo, and the place shows its category icon instead.
My defaults, at the top right, saves the values you use most and fills them into the empty fields of the next place. Save changes saves the place; it syncs to your devices.
Sharing With the Community
Switch on Public Location and save. A new public place waits for our team's approval before it appears on the community map, and changes to a public place may be checked again; riders with more than 20 community points, and DMD Stars, are approved straight away. Each approved place earns you a community point. Other riders find it on the Locations HUB and in Discover in the apps.
Import & Export
Import Locations: one category and one folder for the whole file.
Import takes a GPX or KML file (its waypoints), CSV (with latitude and longitude columns, and a title if you have one), JSON (GeoJSON or Google Takeout), XML, or a ZIP of them, up to 50 MB.
- Choose the file, the Category every imported place gets, and a Folder (an existing one or a new one). Tick Show imported locations on DMD2 map to have them on the map straight away.
- Parse File lists what it found; Select All or Select None, tick the ones you want, then Import Selected.
Export picks places and downloads them as GPX waypoints; selecting places in the list and choosing Export does the same.
The Public Locations HUB
Locations → Community Locations in the top bar opens the Locations HUB: every approved public place, open to everyone. Filter by continent, country, state, category, best time to visit, ground, vehicle, visitors and rating; signed in, Only from users I follow and Hide my locations narrow it further. The Map button shows or hides the community map (filled blue while it is shown, and remembered), and My Locations brings you back to this page. Star a place to add it to your Favorites.
