Devices & Licenses

What licenses DMD2 on your account, in one place: the DMD devices registered to you, your Google Play subscription and your Thork Racing license keys — which device each key is in use on, and releasing it to move it.

DMD Devices

Account and Security, DMD Devices tab: Registered DMD devices with a DMD T880, its serial number, Licensing this account, Registered from the app and a Remove button; below, How to register a DMD device in three steps

DMD Devices — a registered DMD T880, and how to register one.

A DMD device registered to your account licenses DMD2 on every phone, tablet or head unit where you sign in with that account. The DMD device itself is always licensed.

Open Account & Security → DMD Devices. Each registered device shows its model (DMD T665, NOR7E, T865 or T880), its serial number and when it was registered — from the app, or added by support.

  • Registering happens on the device only, never on the website, because DMD2 reads the serial number from the hardware: on the DMD device, open DMD2, sign in to the HUB, go to Settings → Global → License and under DMD Device Registration tap Register This Device. The page repeats these steps under How to register a DMD device; the full guide is Registering Your DMD Device.
  • Remove takes a device off your account (you confirm first). Do it before you sell a device, so the new owner can register it; or for a device you no longer have, before registering again.
  • A device belongs to one account at a time. If DMD2 says yours is registered to another account, contact support with your proof of purchase and we move it.
  • Already signed in on your phone? Open DMD2 there, or tap Check Again in its License settings: the license is checked every time the app starts.

License Keys

Account and Security, Licenses tab: Google Play subscriptions (none linked), then License keys: a DMD2 Lifetime Map License In use on a Samsung tablet with a Release button, and a DMD2 Edition License marked Not in use

Licenses — a key in use on a tablet, and a released one.

Open Account & Security → Licenses. Under License keys, each key shows:

  • the license (for example DMD2 Lifetime Map License) and a badge: In use, Not in use or Expired;
  • the full key, with a button that copies it;
  • the device it is in use on, when it was activated and when that device last checked in;
  • a Release button while it is in use.
  • Release frees the key at once (you confirm first); then activate it in DMD2 on the device you want. The device it was on keeps the license until DMD2 next re-checks the key there. A key works on one device at a time.
  • You only need Release when the new device is not signed in to your account. If it is, just activate the key there: it moves across by itself.
  • Only keys activated while signed in with this HUB account are listed. If your key is missing, it was activated without signing in: contact support and we link it to your account.
  • The HUB decides which device a key is in use on. The activation count on your Thork Racing account (thorkracing.com, where you bought the key) is not used by DMD2, so release a key here or in the app, not there. Activating, moving and every activation message are in License Keys.

Google Play Subscriptions

A DMD2 subscription bought in the app through Google Play appears at the top of the Licenses tab once DMD2 has checked it on a device signed in to your account. Linked to your account, it licenses DMD2 on every device where you sign in.

Status

Each subscription shows its state — Active, Payment problem, Cancelled, On hold, Paused, Pending, Refunded, Expired and others — when it renews or ends, the app, the Google Play order number and when it was last checked with Google Play.

Manage in Google Play

Payment, renewal and cancelling are Google’s: Manage in Google Play opens your subscription there.

Release

Release unlinks a subscription from this account; it is then listed as Released. The next HUB account whose DMD2 checks it, on a device whose Play Store uses the Google account that bought it, takes it over. This account can take it back after 7 days.

Linked to another account

When your DMD2 finds a purchase that is linked to another HUB account, the page says which. Devices whose Play Store uses the Google account that bought it stay licensed either way. To link it here instead, sign in to the HUB as that other account, open Account & Security → Licenses and choose Move to this account next to your email address.

In DMD2

Activating a key, Release From This Device and what each activation message means are in License Keys; registering and removing a DMD device on the device itself are in Registering Your DMD Device.
