Signing In & Creating an Account
Signing in to the HUB website.
Your DMD account is one account for the HUB website, DMD2, the DMD HUB app for iPhone and iPad, MiniLauncher and Phone Link.
Choose Sign in at the top right of any HUB page, or go to hub.dmdnavigation.com/account/login.
Sign in
Enter your Email and Password (the eye shows what you typed), complete the security check and choose Sign in. Tick Remember me and this browser keeps you signed in for 30 days.
Create an account
Register here asks for a Display Name, your Email and a password twice. After Sign up, open the link in the email we send: it confirms your address and signs you in. Disposable email addresses are not accepted.
Forgot your password?
Under the Sign in button. Enter your email and choose Send reset email; the link in it lets you set a new password. For your privacy the page answers the same way whether or not the address has an account.
Choosing a password
A password needs 10 to 128 characters with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character. Common words, four or more of the same character in a row, and runs like 1234 or abcd are refused. A meter under the field shows how strong it is.
When sign-in doesn’t work
- Sign in failed! — Invalid email or password: check both; the page offers Recover password and Register here.
- Email address is not verified yet! Open the link in the email we sent when you registered, or press Send email again for a new one.
- Too many login attempts: after 5 tries in 15 minutes from one place, wait the minutes the page says.
- Account Locked! After 5 wrong passwords the account locks and we email you a password-reset link straight away. Set a new password from it to unlock.
Sign Out is at the bottom of the menu under your picture and of the account sidebar. It also forgets Remember me on that browser.
Overview
Overview — your library in numbers, quick actions and your latest files and places.
Overview is the first entry under your picture and in the account sidebar. Welcome back shows:
- a tile for each thing you keep — Locations, GPX files, Riding groups (and how many more you joined), Events, Roadbooks, Signature tracks, Videos and Services — each opening its page;
- quick actions: New Location, New GPX, New Event, Plan a route (the Web Planner), New Roadbook, Signature tracks, New Video and New Service;
- Latest GPX files and Latest locations: your last four of each.
Account & Security
Account & Security has six tabs along the top: Account, Active Devices, DMD Devices, Licenses, Login History and Your data. DMD Devices and Licenses are in Devices & Licenses.
The Account tab, starting with your public information.
The Account tab is made of sections, each with its own Save changes and Cancel:
- Basic Public Information: your picture, Display name, Profile Visibility (Public or Private), an optional Unique Name and Signature.
- Privacy, Unit Preferences, GPX Files and Social Links.
- Password and the Danger Zone.
Profile picture
Change picture, or the round button on your picture at the top of the account sidebar, opens Upload Avatar: drop a JPG or PNG up to 10 MB onto it or use Choose File. It is resized to 600 px.
Unique Name
An optional handle shown with an @: 3–30 letters, digits or underscores, starting with a letter. The page tells you as you type whether it is free. It becomes your public profile’s address, hub.dmdnavigation.com/users/view/yourname/.
Profile Visibility & Privacy
Private hides your profile page; what you post publicly still shows your display name and signature. Under Privacy, Show the events I’m going to and went to decides whether your profile lists them.
Units, GPX Files & Social Links
Distance & Elevation Units: Auto Detect, Metric or Imperial, used across the website. Ask for a ride’s details (under GPX Files): when one of your rides helps map Community Ways, GPX Files asks what you rode it with, how hard it was and how much was off-road. Switch it off to stop being asked; a ride’s Edit always takes them. Social Links adds Facebook, Instagram, Twitter / X and YouTube to your profile.
Password
Enter your Current password, then the new one twice (see Choosing a password). Changing it signs you out of DMD2, MiniLauncher and the DMD HUB app on every device: sign in there again with the new password.
Danger Zone
Delete My Account asks for your current password and for the box I understand that this action is permanent and irreversible, then Permanently Delete Account. It can’t be undone: download your data first.
Signed-in Devices & Login History
- Active Devices lists the apps signed in to your account — DMD2, the HUB app and the other DMD apps, one row per phone, tablet or DMD unit: its name and system, when it was last active, the app version, roughly where it was (city and country) and when it was first seen. Sign out on a row signs that device out; Sign out all devices signs out every one. Use it for a lost or sold device.
- Login History shows your Recent logins in the apps: up to the last 50 over about six months. Nothing there can be changed; it is for spotting a sign-in that wasn’t you. If you see one, change your password.
Browsers where you signed in to the website are not listed; Sign Out in each browser, or change your password.
Download All Your Data
Your data — one archive of everything you keep on the HUB.
Account & Security → Your data makes one ZIP archive of everything you keep on the HUB, to keep as a backup or to take elsewhere:
- your GPX files in their GPX Files folders, with descriptions, details, photos and attachments;
- your Locations as GPX and JSON, with folders, tags and photos;
- your planner projects, roadbooks and trips (timeline, recorded track and photos);
- your profile with its settings and DMD2 rider profiles.
- Press Create my archive. It is built in the background — a few minutes for a big library — and you get an email when it is ready; you can leave the page meanwhile. A README inside explains every folder.
- The Download button stays on that page for 7 days, then the archive is deleted. You can make one archive a day.
- Passwords, sign-in codes and live-share links are never put in the archive.
- To bring your GPX library back into a HUB account, choose the archive itself in Restore Backup in GPX Files: it reads only the GPX folder. Restore takes ZIPs up to 500 MB; for a bigger archive, make a ZIP of what is inside its GPX folder and restore that. The rest of the archive is for you to keep; it is not restored.
App Profiles
App Profiles — the six DMD2 rider profile slots.
App Profiles are the six rider profile slots of DMD2 (see Global Settings & Profiles), here to edit on a big screen. They are for DMD2 only. Changes reach your devices within about a minute.
Which profile is active is chosen per device, in the app’s profile switcher, so two devices on one account can ride different slots at the same time.
- Each Slot card shows the profile’s name (or Not configured), its vehicle, how many settings differ from the defaults and when it last synced. The counters on top add up configured slots and overridden settings.
- Create or Edit opens the slot: its picture (Choose photo, crop, Use this photo, or Remove avatar), Display name and Vehicle name; Trip & Odometer with the active trip, Total ODO (Adjust ODO sets a new value in km) and Trip A / Trip B; then every setting by category, with Expand all, Collapse all, a reset per category and Reset ALL to defaults. Save slot saves it.
- Copy to… copies a slot over another one (it replaces what that one had). Clear empties a slot.
Notifications & the Bell
The bell in the top bar tells you what happened on your things and what the riders you follow shared. It sits next to your picture on a computer, and next to the menu button on a phone. When something is new it turns blue and shows how many: 7 new. Click it to open your notifications: on a computer they open on the right; on a phone they slide up from the bottom.
Riders you follow
The row of pictures at the top: the riders you follow who shared something new. A red ring and LIVE mean that rider is riding live right now. Click a picture to see what they shared.
For you
Comments and replies on your GPX files, places, events, services, videos, trip journals and posts. Each one shows the item, the newest comment and who else commented. Reply answers right there. Below them: likes, riders saving your places, new followers, and riders going to your events.
Following
The riders you follow: who is riding live (Watch live), and the GPX files, places, events, services, videos, Signature Tracks, trip journals and posts they shared. Several from one rider on the same day show together, for example shared 3 new GPX files.
New and read
Opening the bell clears its number. Each notification keeps a blue dot until you open it. marks them all as read.
- Click a notification to open its item at that comment. A post opens right in your notifications, with its conversation under it.
- on a conversation mutes it: no more notifications about it. Undo brings them back.
- opens all your notifications as a page: hub.dmdnavigation.com/notifications.
- Signed out, the bell is still there; clicking it lets you sign in or create an account.
Notification Settings
Notification Settings — one row per kind, one switch per way of telling you.
Notification Settings is under your picture, in the account sidebar and behind the in the bell. For each kind of notification, switch on or off whether it shows on the Bell, comes as a Phone push from the DMD HUB app, and goes in the Email digest. Changes save as you click (Saving…, Saved).
Until you change anything, the bell and phone push are on and email is off.
- The kinds are: Comments on my things, Replies to my comments, New from riders I follow, Riders I follow go live, Saves, likes and ratings on my things, New followers and Riders joining my events.
- A — in the Phone push column means that kind is never pushed to your phone: new things from riders you follow, riders going live, and riders joining your events.
- Email digest: turn Email on for a kind and the HUB sends you one email, Weekly or Daily, with the notifications of those kinds you have not seen yet. Nothing new, no email. Every email has an Unsubscribe link.
- Muted lists the conversations and riders you muted, each with Unmute.
- See your notifications opens the full notifications page.
In DMD2
Signing in, the HUB home and the Feed’s bell in the app are in the HUB chapter of the DMD2 manual; the same notifications show there, and marking them read in one place marks them read in the other. The rider profiles you edit under App Profiles are explained in Global Settings & Profiles.
