make optimize better
Johny Pear Thanks for doing this so fast!
I tried it a few times.
I made 5 waypoints spread out then the only way I could get optimize to show up is begin a segment.
I need to actually route to all 5 and the click optimize for the system to check my attempt and offer a new order and new tracks….
Is this the basic logic of it?
In all my tests shortest and fastest were the same?….maybe that is correct since I am testing in very rural areas.
I also noticed you can right-click to optimize.
I would like to somehow set a start point #1 and then ideally draw a box around all 5 waypoints and let the system make the perfect tracks on the first attempt instead of me having to click down and route all 5 first…does that make sense?
Maybe you could make a short video on how you use it.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. The Planner can now plan the route from your waypoints, with no routing by hand first. Right-click the map and choose "Plan a route through waypoints" (or right-click a waypoint and choose "Plan a route from here"). Drag a box round the waypoints, press Start on the one you want as stop #1, choose where the ride ends and Shortest or Quickest, then press "Plan the route". The planner routes them and shows the best order, ready to Apply.
On Shortest vs Quickest: Quickest now uses the same riding time the planner shows. With the Offroad and Adventure profiles that time comes from distance at a set speed, so with those profiles the two orders are always the same. The panel says so when that happens. With Road profiles they can differ, though on country roads they often still match.
