underpase / tunnel distance missing

around Amsterdam, the Netherlands there are several tunnels and overpasses. every time i drive under or in one obiously loose GPS signal hence distance is not adding up.
for now i deal with it as in making a waypoint at the exit (see att pic.) so i can reset the partial distance and only my total distance is of.
on the biggest tunnel on the east side about 2km under ground, when exit lost the complete roadbook location when i checked the map it was accurate on the gpx track , back to roadbook and the instruction screen was frozen,. but i could move with the remote control manual.
is there a software solution for this that it calculates and add the missing tunnel distance to partial and total widgets?
proposal,. can the instruction text in the right hand collom be "double" the size by default, ?

for now i make a tunnel exit waypoint, then a close follow up by the next landmark/bridge. so i know how much to add to total distance,. programmed one button on my remote to do just that
