Roll & pitch indicators are counter-intuitive
Hi,
for a long time already the roll & pitch indicators on both mini launcher and dmd2 are feeling wrong to me.
I remember long time ago that someone, as an aviator, mentioned this already on the discord channel - I felt the same way.
Although the mini launcher and dmd2 use different graphics, they both feel wrong.
The mini launcher looks the best in my opinion: brown (ground) & blue (sky), so when no pitch, hence level, the red line equals the boundary. But, when the nose goes up, towards the sky, currently the red line shifts to brown area, the ground! And the other way around when the nose goes down towards the ground, the red line goes to the blue area!) - check some youtube video's or reels from flight instruments.
The DMD2 indicators are different, but also a bit counter intuitive: the roll indicator moves the center line the wrong direction, it should stay equal to the gyroscope, so roll to the left, the horizontal line should stay equal to the ground, stay horizontal. The pitch dot seems ok here - but I like the mini launchers indicators better.
Hope this makes sense to you ;-)
Cheers!
I had mentioned this in discord. Thanks for posting this in the roadmap!
Hi Shaun, what's your opinion about the degrees positieve and degrees negative?
