Do I need an Internet connection to use DMD2?

No, you do not. Although there are some online functions in DMD² you can use fully offline.
The only thing for which you need an internet connection is for the initial offline map downloads, after you downloaded all the maps you need you can use the app fully offline.

Some extra functions that require internet if you want to use them:

• Group Manager - Location sharing with a group of friends

• Satellite View map layer

• Hillshading map layer

• Weather map layers

• Online Location/Address search (uses Google Places), offline search is also available but is more limited
