Dashboard + Navigation
DMD2 is an Android app that can be run as a regular app or as your default home launcher.
It is aimed to transform any Android device into a dashboard for adventure vehicles, our focus is Adventure and Off-Road navigation and the map section of the app is where we dedicate more development time.
The whole purpose of it is simplicity, minimize the required user interactions for the functions you need the most while riding, avoid swipes or gestures that are not practical while driving, specially on a motorcycle while wearing gloves. We use simple dialogs and big buttons.
To add to the easy of use while riding, DMD2 is built from the ground to perfectly integrate handlebar controllers, enabling you to control most features from your handlebar!

DMD2 also integrates a series of other accessories besides the remote controllers:
OBD2 Dongles for getting data from your ECU
TPMS sensors to monitor tyre pressure and temperature
PowerBox to remote control any electrical accessory
Made by riders for riders!

Why DMD2
Just like you, we are a team of adventure and off-road riders. For years we have been going on all sorts of adventures where navigation has become a central piece.
We wanted to use the Android operating system due to its big offer of apps, apps like Google Maps and Waze for road navigation, Google Drive for quick access to files among different platforms, WhatsApp for quick group chat and share, Spotify for listening to music, and many others for the many tasks that we might need while riding. But we always felt like there was a central app missing that would easily transform the device into a easy-to-use solution while riding.
That is the objective of the DMD2 app, a navigation solution that goes beyond a map, a full dashboard and a toolbox for your adventures.
Challenge
Transforming an Android powered device into an easy to use navigation device, well integrated with your vehicle with all the information concentrated in one app.
Solution
To get everything we wanted from a navigation device we developed our own app, the DMD2 app, which incorporates all our needs and ideas from all our adventure and off-road riding.
Group Manager
Did you know you can create groups with your friends and view everyone on the map while riding? The Group Manager feature in DMD2 is a great tool for those who ride with friends! It also allows you to send help requests and will notify if someone gets disconnected or stops.
GPX is King!
While riding on a GPX track or route, you will get real-time information, along the track, about the progress, distance and heading for next waypoint, distance to up to 3 types of Points of Interest (which will be shown on the map along the track). DMD2 will also look ahead and tell you the distance and angle for the next curve or even extract turn-by-turn instruction on a track line.
