Do not miss any notification!

While riding you usually keep your phone in your pocket, just like we do! With all the noise it is really easy to miss a call or important notification. Even if you have an headset you probably want to be able to see who is calling right?

The notification mirror in DMD2 solves this by allowing you to mirror your pocket phone notifications to your DMD2 screen on another device! No internet required, this is done using Bluetooth!

This is feature is available for both Android and iPhone.

For the Android phones it requires you to install an extra app, while for the iPhone there is no need to install any app.

Step 1 - Pair Devices

Regardless if your phone is Android or iPhone the first thing you need to do is pair both devices.

Open the Bluetooth setting on your pocket phone (the device the you want to get notifications from):

  • iPhone - Go to Settings > Tap on "Bluetooth" > Make sure bluetooth is ON

  • Android - Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device

Open the Bluetooth settings on your device running DMD2, which will be running Android, make sure Bluetooth is enable and the device is in visible state, usually by going to the "Pair new device" screen the device will be set automatically to visible.

Now pair both devices, you can initiate the pairing on either of the devices.

Step 2 - Android Phone

If your pocket phone is an Android device you will need to install an extra app that we developed that will take care of forwarding notifications.

Our DMD HUB app can forward notifications for whatever app you want - you can filter which apps you want to forward or not.

This app will also register in your system as an app capable of handling locations and GPX files, this means you can open choose DMD HUB to open both and it will forward it to your DMD device.

Install the app, start it, and tap on the center button to select your host device (the paired device that is running DMD2).

Step 2 - iPhone

For iPhone devices you do not need to install any app.

  1. Simply start DMD2, go to Global Settings > Scroll down to "Notifications" > Enable "iOS Notification Support"

  2. Right bellow the previous setting you will find "Select Paired iOS Device" - Tap on it and select your iPhone device from the list of paired devices

It is very important that you look at the screen in your iPhone device, you should get a request to accept "Share System Notifications".

If you do not see the notification you can go to the iPhone bluetooth settings > tap on the paired device running DMD2 and check if the options shows, if it does, enable it!

Notification Display

DMD2 will display new notifications with a pop-up, regardless of what is your current active view.

You can also setup the "Notifications" in the home dashboard, which allows you to view a list of all the notifications your got.

It is that simple!

Extra Settings!

In the global settings there are two extra settings that can be useful.

"Show Calls Only" (only for iphone) - allows you to filter notifications and show only incoming calls.

"Blink Screen On Remote Device Notification" (for both Android and iPhone) - Will blink a blue frame around the edges of the app to call for your attention while riding
