Wiring

To sum up the wiring, while the newer 1300 models have a specific cable that will need to be connected to the alarm connector, for almost all other previous models you can either connect to the alarm or tyre pressure connectors (each have its own cable matching the motorcycle connector).

Our included cables are always splitter, so you disconnect the motorcycle connector and use our splitter cable to connect back to the original connector and to the box.

Bluetooth Pairing / Cable

You can use either bluetooth connection or cable connection, all features are available for both. Notice the cable connection is only compatible with DMD devices.

To pair using bluetooth simply connect the box to your motorcycle and turn the ignition on, the box will light up the LED and you can now pair it with your device. Not sure how to pair a device in Android? Watch the video, notice the BMW Sync Box Bluetooth device name is DMD-VAMW1 and not DMD-Remote2 like in the video.

If you have a DMD device and want to connect it with the Remote cable, simple connect the cable to the box and to the DMD device harness.

Manage App

For DMD devices the Manage app is part of the system. You just need to open it once, provide any requested permission, tap on "Remote Settings" and make sure the remote is detected.

For non DMD devices you will need to manually install the app. You can open this page in your tablet or phone and click on this link to download the latest version of the APK.

This app takes care of communications and offers minimal settings, most of the configuration will be done in the DMD2 app.

You can also find a button testing interface to diagnose any issue with the remote, just tap on the "Test Buttons" button and in case of available Firmware Updates the app will show you an "Update Firmware" button.

Operating

Please notice that every time you start your motorcycle, by default, the Wonder Wheel is set to TFT (controls only the motorcycle TFT), to start controlling the navigation device you need to press and hold the MENU down button (right of the wheel). An indication will show up on the navigation device showing the focus toggle (switching from TFT to NAV!

Notice: Only switch to NAV mode (to control navigation device) when the motorcycle TFT is in a screen where the wheel has no function, otherwise you will be controlling both screens. Usually the default home screen or the vehicle details screen.

Keys:
4 keys are available with wheel up/down/left/right
4 more keys are available if you press and hold the cancel blinker (blinker in) and use the wheel while holding it
