White stripes over the map (vertical or horizontal - usually in a grid pattern), means there was some system or app map scale change and some resident graphics cache was not cleared.
The easiest way to fix this is to just kill the DMD2 app once, it will invalidate the cache.
In the video you can see two different ways to kill the app, either access the recents screen and kill the app by dragging it up or go to Android Settings > Apps > Tap on DMD2 > tap on "Force Stop".
To export a GPX file recorded with DMD2 you just need to use the Recordings List interface:
Tap the GPX button in the map view
Tap "Recorder" in the bottom of the GPX Manager dialog
Tap "Recordings" in the bottom of the GPX Recorder dialog
Tap on the file you want to export
Tap the "Share" or "Export" (depending on the language).
Select the destination to export to.
We usually export to something like Google drive because it provides easy cloud storage with access on any device.
In the video you can see the complete steps to export a recorded GPX file to Google Drive
If the map is not following your location there are 3 possibilities:
No Location update is arriving DMD2 - Check that location is enabled in your device and make sure you provided location permission for DMD2. Other than this unless you have some sort of hardware issue, DMD2 should be capable of receiving location updates from the device.
No location fix - Either you are inside a building or a tunnel or for some other reason you have poor GPS signal in the place where you are at the moment. Check precision and last update time (2. in the image), ideally you want a low value (lower than 5m precision), next to the precision value you can check how long ago was the last update, usually "1s" (1 second) is the optimal time.
Wrong follow location mode - There are a series of different follow location modes (Button 1. in the image) make sure you are using one of the following modes:
Faced to Travel Direction - Map will follow your location and rotate so that up faces your travel direction.
North Up - Map will follow your location with no rotation, up is always north.
Disabled - Map will not follow your location!
Paused - Temporarily paused due to controller panning or any action to preview a location, press on it to go back to previous mode or wait 20 seconds and, most of the times, it will resume automatically.
There are other follow modes, which are disabled by default, if your button shows any other icon besides the ones mentioned here it means you enabled another mode, you can enable / disable modes in: Map Configuration (button with 3 overlayed squares) > Advanced (button in the bottom) > Search for "Follow Location Modes".
Notice that the follow location toggle button will cycle through all the enabled follow modes. You might need to tap on it multiple times for it to reach whatever is the desired follow mode.
The bottom menu bar will disappear for two reasons:
1) The screen is locked using the assigned hardware button for screen touch toggle, which for DMD device this is configurable in the included system app called "Buttons", to setup open Button app > Tap Device Settings > Check P Functions - "Toggle Screen Touch"), for non DMD devices there is a lock icon that allows you to enable and disable screen touch.
2) If you have touched or tapped the top status bar. The top status bar includes a Tap functions that allows you to toggle the bottom menu visible or hidden.
In the video you can see:
Lock & unlock screen touch
Tapping the top status bar
Updates from the Google PlayStore only work when DMD2 was purchased and downloaded from the PlayStore. If the device is a DMD Navigation unit, or you have installed the DMD2 APK version, updates are pushed automatically - do not use the PlayStore for updates and do not worry about Play Store.
